Extra Bold, Bold, Superior and Common green cardamom, across Malabar, Mysore, Vazhukka and Nadan varieties.
Extra Bold is the grade most premium retail and Middle Eastern export buyers specify — large pods, strong oil retention, priced at a real premium over lower grades. Common grade covers smaller, less visually uniform pods and is priced for bulk grinding where pod size doesn't affect the ground product.
Malabar and Mysore are the two dominant Indian growing regions behind most of our volume; Vazhukka and Nadan are more localized varieties available in smaller quantities. Tell us your target market — Middle Eastern buyers in particular are often specific about grade and origin together, not just one or the other.
Grades available
- Extra Bold
- This grade contains the largest and most flavorful green cardamom pods, with a bright green color and a high oil content.
- Bold
- This grade contains slightly smaller and less flavorful pods than Extra Bold, but still of high quality.
- Superior
- This grade contains smaller pods with a slightly lighter green color and a less intense flavor than Extra Bold and Bold.
- Common
- This grade contains the smallest and least flavorful pods, and is generally used for industrial purposes.
Varieties available
- Malabar
- This variety of green cardamom is grown in the Malabar region of Kerala and has a bright green color, strong aroma, and a sweet, slightly pungent flavor.
- Mysore
- This variety is grown in the Mysore region of Karnataka and has a lighter green color and a milder, more floral flavor than Malabar cardamom.
- Vazhukka
- This variety is grown in the Idukki district of Kerala and is known for its large pods and strong aroma.
- Nadan
- This variety is grown in the Palakkad region of Kerala and has a slightly darker green color and a bold, strong flavor.
