Hazelnuts across four grades and five named varieties, from Extra Fancy whole kernels to B-grade for processing.
Variety drives flavor more than grade does with hazelnuts — Barcelona and Tonda di Giffoni run richer and are what most European confectionery buyers ask for by name, while Ennis, Jefferson and Yamhill are more neutral and better suited to bulk roasting or oil extraction. Extra Fancy and Fancy grades are whole-kernel, cosmetically clean; A and B grades are priced for processors blanching or chopping regardless.
We can supply raw or roasted, whole or chopped — specify the end use on your RFQ and we'll match variety to it rather than quote whatever's on hand.
Grades available
- Extra Fancy
- The highest grade of hazelnuts, with a uniform color and size, and free of defects.
- Fancy
- The second-highest grade of hazelnuts, with a slightly more varied color and size than Extra Fancy, and a few minor defects.
- A
- The third-highest grade of hazelnuts, with a more varied color and size, and some minor defects.
- B
- A lower grade of hazelnuts that are still suitable for use in baking and cooking

- A popular variety of hazelnuts with a rich, nutty flavor and a slightly elongated shape.
- Ennis
- A variety of hazelnuts that is often used for commercial production, with a round shape and a mild flavor.
- Jefferson
- A variety of hazelnuts that is known for its large size and sweet flavor.
- Tonda di Giffoni
- A variety of hazelnuts that is grown primarily in Italy, with a round shape and a strong, nutty flavor.
- Yamhill
- A variety of hazelnuts that is grown in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, with a sweet flavor and a medium-sized round shape.
